DIEP Flap Surgery Cancellation Policy

Due to the complexity of scheduling DIEP flap surgeries and the high demand for operative time, we have implemented the following cancellation policy:

  1. Cancellation Within Two Weeks of Surgery (Non-Medical Reasons):
If you cancel your surgery within two weeks of your scheduled date due to personal or scheduling conflicts, your case will be rescheduled no sooner than six (6) months from the original date.
  2. Cancellation Due to Medical Reasons:
If your surgery must be cancelled due to a medical issue beyond your control, we will reschedule your surgery six (6) months from the date you are medically cleared. Documentation of medical clearance will be required to initiate rescheduling.
  3. Cancellation Due to Hospital or Facility Issues:
In the rare event your surgery is cancelled due to hospital or facility-related issues beyond our control (e.g., equipment failure, environmental conditions, or staffing shortages), we will do our best to accommodate a new surgical date as the schedule allows. We appreciate your patience and understanding in these situations.

Please understand that operating room time for DIEP flap procedures is limited and highly coordinated. These policies are in place to ensure fairness and adequate preparation for all patients.
